why do they have to release this trailer (use this link if you don't want to bother with quicktime) a year before the movie is scheduled to come out.

I thought they always advertised blockbuster movies at least a year out from release date? I know Lion King, Independence Day, all the LotR, Matrix sequels and Star Wars prequel movies had trailers out at least a year prior to release, and that's just off the top of my head.
