My car finally has been acting up (its only 4 years old; first time its acted up). The driver's side door's window has been slipping when being rolled up. Also I hear something oscilating when driving that becomes a very annoying hum and freeway speeds (its not caused by the windows or accelerating). So I called my mechanic and its going in on Friday morning (Thursday would of been better but they are busy then). Now lets hope that my mom has Fiday off so I have an easy ride back (she usually does because that is when they schedule my Dad's doctor appointments).

I finally got travel comp. for my trip to Siggraph. This is good because it will pay for some if not all of my car repair bill.

I still have not recieved my tuition reimbursement for being a graduate research assistant. Going to be trying to resolve this today.

If I can get that resolved soon, then I will have the money for a new computer. Considering my current machine is only a 1.2Ghz HP computer (that originally ran Windows ME), I can really go for an upgrade.

Camping was fun. Got to burn things. Had to stop making the fire bigger when it threatened to set the canopy of a nearby tree on fire. O yea, I also got to use my hammock for once in several years. Nothing like laying down in a hammock in the middle of a forest.

O and a reminder (for myself mainly)...my birthday is on Tuesday (the 4th of October). I turn 23. I have to remind myself because I always loose track of time this time of year, not realizing my birthday is approaching until it is here. As such, I of course have nothing planned (I never do). This being my first birthday not living with parents also means I don't know what my parents have planned (my mom usually bakes a cake and we go out for a meal with some in-town extended family). One of these days, I will realize my birthday is approaching without having to rely on my watch calendar.

What pitch is that hum at? Manual or auto? I've had the same thing at freeway speeds before; one time it was just tire noise, once it was that the manufacturer balanced my manual transmission badly and it was making squealing noises, but I know the most likely thing for it to be is prob a bad wheel bearing.

If you end up SOL on the ride back, give me a call and I could prob give you a lift home from the mechanic. I know I really appreciated it when a friend did the same for me a couple weeks ago; and I'm free on fridays so it'd be no skin off my back...

I am going to be able to get a ride from my brother (he has a doctor's appointment in the morning Friday, and my mechanic is on his way to the doctor's).
