Finished "Harry Potter: The Half-Blood Prince" last night. Hope Rowling knows that that sort of ending is just going to make fans want the next one sooner.

-Ron and Hermione expanding on their love/hate relationship. Interesting reading what they were each doing to get back at each other for perceived wrongs. By the end, it was no surprise they got together (it was to the point they both know they liked each other with everyone just waiting for Ron to dump whatsherface (don't remember the name and I don't have the book in front of me)).
-Ginny and Harry hooking up. So Rowling decided that Harry should have romantic feelings for Ginny. I'm sure Ginny didn't mind Harry getting caught up in the moment when they kissed out of the blue. Rowling didn't go into what I see happening in the next book of Ginny not letting Harry get away (the whole I should leave you to keep you safe Harry is trying).
-Snape killing Dumbledore. Snape did take the unbreakable vow (remember his discomfort in promising to fulfill the mission if Malfoy couldn't). Malfoy could not go through with it (showing that he had been more of a wannabe poser pretending to be evil instead of really evil). I take his pleading with Snape as asking Snape to kill him (with both knowing Dumbledore had to die). Snape might hate Harry, but he is not evil (he was saving Malfoy who had gotten in too far over his head). Remember, Snape has always taught Harry by taunting and goading him (with good pieces of advice hidden in the taunts). His final lesson to Harry being when he and Snape fought as Snape was escaping (giving Harry good advice on what he must learn if he is to stand a chance against the Dark Lord).
-Malfoy not killing Dumbledore. From the other books, it was obvious that Malfoy was a bully pretending to be evil (since being evil was "badass"). When he found himself having to do the Dark Lord's bidding, he started to realize he was in over his head. By that time, it was too late to back out (the whole family would be killed if you fail thing). Luckily Snape saved him from having to go through with the murder. It will not surprise me if the next book has Malfoy helping Potter in some way (either knowingly or unknowingly).
-Crabbe and Goyle as 11 year old girls. Thank goodness for rule 3.
