Potential Power problems in AZ
Jul. 7th, 2004 04:56 pmApparently a transformer was affected by a fire reducing the amount of power in the valley. There are also some forest fires that might threaten more power lines (among other things; one jumped across a highway). The governor has stated people should reduce power usage between the peak hours of 4pm-7pm by doing stuff like setting your air conditioning to 82. I know that many of the state buildings (like ASU), are suppose to turn off primary lights from noon-6 and turn the air conditioning to 82 (I saw the letter stating as such). Basically, they are trying to reduce power consumption until they can get power input back to normal levels.
So just don't be surprised if there are power outages.

And with the fire threatening the high voltage lines by payson, we could have a rolling blackout situation...
