Came into work today expecting to spend about 5-10 minutes changing some code I was working on yesterday anf found the computer was being rebuilt (whcih includes a reformatting). Of course I forgot to to a backup of yesterdays work (luckily I had a back-up from earlier) so after getting software reinstalled on this thing, I have had my work cut out for me. You see the code I was working on was part of a program someone who is not longer here wrote. I was just modifying a function or two to do something specific. Luckily his code was in sourcesafe. Unluckily I was not able to find all the .lib files needed for his program (had to disable tiff support to run it). Now I am finally at about where I was yesterday and it is almost time to go. O joy.

Uh, why was the machine being rebuilt? I usually make it a p[oint to have the user within speaking distance before I re-load a system to make sure that it's ok to nuke the thing.

he needed the raid card (i think that was the item) for a new server (this is one of those the boss told him to get the server up and running by such and such times deals).
Besides it was not the main computer I was using, just the one that had the program I was to modify already on it.
